In the first game, Liverpool changed a bit their style and played a bit defensive, not as offensive as expected. And the plan went wrong, as they lost deservedly 3-1. They were dominated and weren’t able to create too much danger. But I still see some hopes for Klopp’ side, as they have enough quality to at least be more competitive.

No missings for them. Their performances have been better in the last weeks, they are playing better and are again close to their best level.

But for me the most important here is the pace. Liverpool must put a high pace and rhythm in the match, because Real Madrid isn’t able to equalize it. If Liverpool makes it, is where they will have chances to win and maybe to qualify.

Real Madrid is making amazing performances, especially if we see their problems in the squad: many key players out, a very short and old squad.. Zidane has been using the same players for months but surprisingly, they are still at 100%.

In my opinion they have been overperforming lately, soon their level will go down as they have a very old squad with key players above 30 years old playing 2 games per week: Modric, Kroos and Benzema.

They have played a very demanding game at the weekend vs Barcelona, so for sure will be tired for this one. We must remember that some key players and starters are out here: Sergio Ramos, Casemiro, Carvajal and Hazard. Also other rotation players like Nacho and Lucas Vazquez are out. Furthermore, Varane and Valverde have been doubtful during the week due to small injuries during, but will play here.

Physically Liverpool is above Real Madrid. In general, Premier League teams already showed that they are one step above La Liga teams, but especially here where Real Madrid is without several key players and comes from very demanding meetings in the last weeks without make any rotation.

If Liverpool put a high pace here, Madrid won't be able to equalize it and will suffer a lot. Furthermore, the amount of missings on Zidane’s side makes me think that Liverool will have chances to qualify here.

Remember that Madrid won 3-1, so even a defeat by 1 goal will be enough for them to qualify.
