Good opportunity for Inter Milan to make the difference with Juventus even higher.

Inter is flying in the Serie A, performing really well with an amazing balance of 21/3/1, only 12 goals conceded and 63 scored. The defeat came against Sassuolo in September, so the team is full of confidence to extend their winning run which is 10 games in a row at the moment.

Their 2024 year has been perfect so far, including also the victory in the Supercup against Juventus.

All the team is in their best form, and have shown that are able to score from different situations: from the wings, at counter attacks, in open play thanks to their strong and quality midfield, in set pieces… this means that not only Lautaro (topscorer with 22 goals in Serie A) and Thuram (10 goals and 7 assists) are key pieces in this team. Also Calhanoglu (9 goals) or defenders Dimarco and Dumfries, both with 3 goals.

They have a solid XI and don’t have important missings, whilst no rotations are expected in the team. Most probably coach Inzaghi will make some changes in this weekend’ game, before the UCL clash against Atletico.

On the other hand, Atalanta is fighting for the TOP4 but are suffering the consequences of their poor start of the season. They have lost 7 games so far, the majority of them at the beginning of the campaign.

Playing as visitors they have poor numbers, with a balance of 4/3/5. However, they are in the best moment of the season: 9 wins and 2 draws in the last 11 games. After Inter, they are the best team in the Serie A at the moment.

Gasperini managed to build a solid team again, and very dangerous upfront. Many young players who are performing very well, such as De Ketelaere, Koopmeiners, Ruggeri or Miranchuk.

They are a brave team who will play offensive here in San Siro, as did against AC Milan or Roma recently. However, in both games they were outplayed and deserved to lose.

Inter Milan has much more quality here. It doesn't matter the kind of game that Atalanta can propose, they have the ability to generate chances and score 2-3 goals easily. Atalanta will make things easier, as they will attack and leave spaces at the back. As visitors they decreased their level a lot, and were totally outplayed by Roma, AC Milan recently , whilst also lost against Bolonia (who is 4th) 1:0.

Inter has won the last 4 fixtures against Atalanta and I see here the chance to get the 5th one.
