The final series of the lower half of the table starts. There will be 5 more rounds, the bottom team will be relegated directly, the 5th placed will have a two-legged play-off with the team who wins the promotion play-offs at Ykkönen. Also there is a prize for the winner of these lower half teams, the one who wins it will take part in European qualification play-offs, but it looks like now it will be AC Oulu.

We can expect very even matches in general here, none of the teams is especially good by class or form, and even if Oulu have the advantage they have also los their best player Liimatta and their top coach Duarte recently.

All of the teams have changed their coach recently apart from Haka, who have just said they will not renew with club legend Teemu Tainio.

Lahti v KTP

FC Lahti fired coach Mannila, but promoted assistant coach Lindberg and in general it is never a good idea. In his first match though they came back from behind to win over Ilves by 3-2, but it was not really a deserved win even if there was a bit more action in the attacking third than usual.

KTP lost also their 2nd match under new coach Malinen, this time to Honka at home by 1-2, but they did create a lof of panic with their pressure, and Honka is a classy team. It was again the defensive mistakes that cost them points, more like individual failures than a systematic error. The team is not very good, but not really a bad one either and between all these 6 clubs here the differences are marginal, more like defined by style than class.

Lahti had serious injury worries ahead of the international break and the status is still unsure with several key players, and for sure they are not fully fit even if they can start. At KTP the situation is otherwise better, but William Pozo is suspended.

A careful approach to be expected from both sides. A 0-0 would not surprise me at all.

Haka v Ilves

There was a slight upwards trend at Haka and they won SJK 1-0 in the last round of the regular season. SJK on the other hand has been strongly downwards since losing their keeper Ejeheri back to Arsenal in the summer transfer window, and in this match the fair result would had been a draw, but good and important win for Haka nevertheless.

Ilves lost their latest game to Lahti by 3-2, but they were unlucky with the result, and also suffered a lot of injuries and suspensions and today the situation is a lot better.

Haka will miss important Mahuta, Ilves get back at least equally important Haarala.

It will be a busy week with all the leagues returning. I will have my eyes mostly on Spain and England, perhaps there will also be picks for Finland Premier for tomorrow. Interesting team news in La Liga with for example Sergio Ramos and Ansu Fati. Of the latter one there was a good article at the Guardian newspaper by Sid Lowe. Take a look if you have the time!

哈卡诉伊尔维斯
