Atletico should win this game very easily.

Atletico finished the last season at a really high level. They were the best team in the league in the last 20 rounds, which is more than the half of the season. Players like Griezzmann at their best level, the team were scoring many goals from different players, positions and actions, and their defense were pretty solid.

Simeone found the key to be strong and competitive, with a very balanced and solid squad, playing with a 3-5-2 using two wingers like Carrasco and Llorente and three solid defenders, and upfront two players with great chemistry like Morata and Griezmann.

They have now made too many transfers because they weren't needed. The squad is almost hre same with one improvement: former Chelsea’s defender Azpilicueta who is a great addition for Cholo Simeone’s team.

Atletico has one of the best squads in the league and seeing the team, who is the same as previous season, I’m expecting them to perform at the same level as last year.

On the other hand, Granada is a newly promoted team who will struggle a lot this season. In La Liga 2 last year they were a terrible visitor, with only 5 victories and 11 defeats in 21 away games. They were promoted thanks to their amazing home numbers (17/4/0).

They have not made good transfers, only Gonzalo Villar (who played in Getafe last year and had a poor season), a good defender from Madrid - Vallejo (who is injured) and an irregular striker from Valladolid - Weissman, who has a poor level.

So the team without Vallejo, who is in my opinion the only real improvement to the squad, has the same level as they had last year in the second division. Furthermore, they have an offensive coach who was relegated in Levante some seasons ago and showed that has zero ability to compete against top/strong teams. He doesn’t know how to play defensive and achieve positive results against the best teams, because he always play offensive, brave, with spaces, and use to receive big defeats because his teams are relegation sides.

They made a poor preseason, playing against amateur teams and losing against Almeria in their last test, being totally outplayed.

Granada’s squad right now is one of the worst in La Liga, as they have not made any good transfer except Vallejo who is injured. Atletico has one of the best and their level was amazing last year, so I don't see any reason to think on a different level for them.

I think that Granada will need some more time to make new transfers and raise the level of the team. This added to the poor performances of this coach against top teams in the past makes me see this match as a perfect chance for Atletico to show their best level and achieve a comfortable victory.
