In my opinion Varbergs have bigger chances to avoid loss in this game than bookies wants to suggest for us in their odds.

Obviously, Halmstads plays really good season so far as they are in top half of the table, but I don’t see them as so big favorite. Their record at home doesn’t look so strong as they failed to win in 5 of 8 home league matches so far. Halmstads after the break went unbeaten in all 4 matches (one win and 3 draws), but their results looks better than really should. In 3 of those matches they had lower expected goals scored number than their oppoonents, also in game when they recorded win on away against IFK Norrkoping.

Varbergs is on last position in table, 6 points behind safe place and they have to start winning, no excuses. During the break they changed coach and Martin Skogman progressed from coach assistant position. He knows the player and he knows the problems. Despite poor results after the break (1 wins and 3 losses) I see improvement in last matches. They plays better than results can suggest. In 4 matches after the break they scored 3 goals, but according to the expected goals scored number they should score 5.5. It’s big difference, no doubt about that.

Varbergs coming for this game without big fear. Halmstads is not big name in Allsvenskan standards as they are league newcomers and Varbergs didn’t lost in last 3 matches in a row at this stadium. I see strong value on away side here.
