I do not want to sound overly self-confident and arrogant, but Häcken will win this one by +4 goals tonight in Göteborg.

Why so?

The key elements are the absolute class difference, Häcken would win the Welsh league without losing a game, and the fact that Häcken are in the middle of the season while The New Saints are still more or less in a holiday mood.

It is true that the New Saints have played a few friendlies and "prepared" for the Champions league fixtures, but I have personally seen the clubs from Britain in July several times and the players themselves are out of form, and they all approach their away games with a 0-0 and time killing attitude, with as much violence and aggression needed as possible.

Ok, this was not a nice thing to say, and there is a hint of professionalism in the current New Saints squad who have a player transfermarket value of roughly 2 million euros.

There is in fact one player to look for at the New Saints side, as the Scottish striker Declan McManus has scored freely in his latest games. Yet, I doubt that he would not make it even to the bench of Häcken, and unfortunately there is a big gap in class behind him.

If this match was played in October or February I might give the New Saints some chance to challenge, now it is just a matter of time when Häcken score their goals, and as this is the first leg and Häcken are busy with their local fixtures I am sure they want - and will - score enough goals to make the 2nd leg only a formality and a chance to rotate their squad strongly.

5-0 is my estimation for this, a goal by visitors would be a big surprise.
