On Friday night, the 2nd Eastern Conference finals game between Boston Celtics and Miami Heat is going to happen. In the 1st match, the Celtics were better in the 1st half as they got 9 point lead heading into the halftime but after that, the Heat came back, won 3rd quarter by 21 points, and won the entire game. In this game, I'm predicting that Boston is going to cover the handicap.

In my opinion, it wasn't a surprise that the Celtics lost Game 1. They had a lot of emotions in Game 7 against Philadelphia. Miami had plenty of days to rest and they have proved this spring that they can play against anybody. At the same time, Miami made 16 three-pointers out of 31 which is 51.6% while their playoff average is 37.8%. Boston made 10 three-pointers out of 29 (34.5%) but their average during the playoffs is 39.3%.

If we look one more time at the box score, Miami won only the 3rd quarter. If we count that out, the Celtics won by 14 points. It shows that the Heat were somehow lucky in the 3rd quarter and only Boston's bad offense and defense led to this outcome. Boston's head coach Joe Mazzulla gave 12 minutes to Payton Pritchard and that is a big question mark. He hasn't played at all during the playoffs and I assume that he won't be on the court during Game 2. One more thing - Jayson Tatum had only 4 shots in the 2nd half and he didn't have any in the last quarter. He's the best player in this team and that can't happen again.

Blowing big leads is a kind of thing that Boston does. It was the same in the 2nd round when they lost Game 1 to Philadelphia but came back in the 2nd and crushed the opponents. I expect the same in this game. If we look at the recent history, a year ago Boston also blew the 1st game against the Heat in the 3rd quarter. It was 100% the same story, it feels like someone just copied for this game. How did they respond? The Celtics won by 25 points.

The Celtics just can't afford to lose Game 2 because going to Miami with 0-2 is going to be very tough. I'm more than sure that Boston's coaching staff will make adjustments, and the Celtics will win by at least 8 points.
