Gameday in Kawasaki for the start of the new season between Kawasaki Frontale & Yokohama Marinos.

Frontale will be without Ienaga, Leandro Damiao & Kobayashi.

On their side Marinos will be without Ryo Miyaichi, Ko Matsubara & Ryuta Koike. Koike is an important defender.

We have a big clash to start this new season with two teams who ended ranked 2 & ranked 1 respectively.

Frontale got 66 points last season with 20 wins, 6 draws & 8 losses for 65 goals scored & 42 goals conceded.

Yokohama Marinos got 68 points with 20 wins, 8 draws & 6 losses for 70 goals scored & 35 goals conceded.

Except Shogo Taniguchi I don't rate any departure as bad for Frontale.

On their side Yokohama lost Iwata & Juan Amano both are important players. In addition of that last year the departure of Maeda affected a lot the team. Their GK Takaoka is ready to leave.

I expect Frontale to go with a 4-4-3 on this game even if it might be a 4-5-1 or a 4-4-2 because in front they don't have the best solutions possible with their missings. Defensively we should have Jesiel, Yamane, Kurumaya & Noborizato. Midfield with Tachibanada, Wakizaka & Chanatip. In front Marcinho, Miyashiro & Segawa or Tono. Of course it's the early of season it's hard to predict as we can also have Oshima or Schmidt in the midfield but for sure with Oniki who knows well his team since years he will be able to put a good line up.

On their side for the Marinos they should use Obi Powell as GK with the departure of the previous one. Defensively I really doubt that Eduardo will be benched but Muscat is used to make weird choices and he likes to make rotation. Kamijima, Tsunoda or Hatanaka & Nagato. Midfield with Kida, Wanatabe & Minuzuma. In front Nishimura, Anderson Lopez & Elber.

I really don't know why Yokohama is favorite as they lost players, at the end of the last season they were much less powerful and this season I expect Frontale top 2 while I don't even put Marinos in my top 4.

I expect a game with goals with two offensively minded team. I see a 3-2 here.
