My strongest candidate is Coudet from Celta. He has done an excellent job since he came, but now I see dark clouds over Celta whose performances were deteriorating. Aspas is not getting younger, Santi Mina is about to leave the club and even Tapia played a relatively weak season. Brais Mendez has already left for Sociedad, and the new signings do not yet look like match winners to me.

Celta had a poor and short preseason without any wins.

The material is not very good, and it is far from wide enough, Celta may find themselves in the relegation battle this time.

Espanyol has made two great signings. The striker Joselu from Alaves suits them well, but it may mean that Raul De Tomas is leaving. However getting coach Diego Martinez is a super signing as he is a top man, and as the previous coach Vicento Moreno got sacked last season just before the last rounds when they were still in the relegation battle we can expect a more entertaining and attacking Espanyol. Moreno's strengths were mainly in playing underdog football even if the team had more potential.

The preseason results are not good, but I personally saw them beat Lille in a friendly in Marbella and to me they looked ready for the season, and are a better team than Celta this season. Espanyol will miss Pedrosa and De Tomas, and the keeper is a new one and a bit of questionmark to me as he did not play a game at Atletico, but at least he has been training with the best of keepers, Jan Oblak.

To me this is clearly the value match of the first round!
