I see several reasons to think that Real Madrid will win today.

Celta is in the middle of the table, nothing in play already. Far from relegation and European spots, so the only motivation they have today is to play against Real Madrid.

Their season has been a bit disappointing, they have been a very irregular team and with a vulnerable defense against top teams: Barcelona scored 3 goals, Atletico Madrid 2, Sevilla 2… Some weeks ago it looked like they were back to the good football and results, but just a mirage: in the last 6 games just managed to win one against Mallorca (relegation team) scoring the winning goal (4:3) in the last minute of the game.

Furthermore, several key players are in bad form: best player and striker Iago Aspas had very poor performances so far, another starter striker Santi Mina is in the middle of a judicial process and they may go to prison…

Captain and defender Hugo Mallo is out due to an injury today.

On the other hand, for Real Madrid this is a very important match. Firstly, because it is the first game after the shameful defeat against Barcelona 0:4, where they were totally outplayed. So I’m expecting a huge reaction here.

Secondly, because Barcelona is just 12 points below (with one less game they should win, so will be 9 points) and if Real Madrid doesn't win today, will give Barcelona enough reasons to think that they can win the title, while Ancelotti’s team will start to be nervous.

Third, because two key players are back: Mendy and Benzema.

Real Madrid’s season has been fantastic so far, with 20 victories in 29 rounds, the best attack (59 goals), dominating the games, and with a very convincing football. The problem is the lack of rotations, but this game comes after an international break with several players who rested with their national team, so it won’t be a problem today.

Furthermore, next week will be the Champions League, which means that it won't be easy to be 100% competitive in La Liga (and probably with some rotations), with Barcelona pushing hard from below. So the three points here are almost mandatory.

Celta is a weak side without motivation today, while I’m expecting a very motivated team in Real Madrid. Furthermore, Celta use to be competitive against the top teams, but the truth is that Real Madrid use to beat them easily thanks to their weak defense and offensive mind: this season already won 5:2, while in the previous games at Celta’s stadium in La Liga we can see 6 victories in the last 7 games, scoring aways a couple of goals at least.

This is a very important game for Real Madrid to not give the chance to Barcelona to think that they can fight and win La Liga’s title, and I believe that they won’t do it.
