I have to admit I am a bit biased towards Sarri and his so-called, Sarri-ball. The reason behind the opinion about the manager is his inability to show results anywhere he’s gone since leaving Napoli. He flopped at Chelsea, he did not live up to expectations at Juventus. Now - it’s Lazio’s turn to experience “the wait for Sarri-ball to finally be constructed”. It is the most common myth around the 63 year old manager - is that he must be given time to “build” his football. 63 games as Chelsea manager - nothing. 51 games in charge of Juventus - a snooze-fest with dozens of unanswered questions. 35 games with Lazio - and he is averaging 1.57 points per match. The worst numbers since June 2015, when he left Empoli. It’s fair to say, Sarri’s career is in gradual decline and his ideas from Napoli times do not work. On top of that, he’s got by far the weakest squad he’s worked with in years. Lazio and president Lotito are well known for being stiff on the transfer market

Before getting the 1-1 draw away to Udinese last weekend, Lazio had two flashy 3-0 wins over Fiorentina and Bologna. They were followed by 2 draws (Porto and Udinese) and a faceless 1-2 defeat in Portugal (vs. Porto, of course).

Like Napoli, Lazio had a game on Thursday and, in my opinion, left significantly more on the pitch than their Sunday’s opponent. I would go as far as to say Napoli sabotaged the Thursday match vs. Barcelona to get themselves out of Europa League for the sake of focusing on domestic matters. They do realize there is a unique opportunity this season to take the title.

Lazio’s record against the top table teams this season does not suggest anything positive for them in the upcoming game. They’ve already recorded losses vs. Inter, Milan, Juventus and Napoli (0-4 in Naples); only taking maximum points in an odd home win over Inter (3-1).

I think visitors are going to return home with points and find the DNB handicap with most books valuable for a bet.
