So, in other words, in games against teams from 2nd half of the table Empoli has managed to take 2 points, 1 of them with a great share of luck (vs. Cagliari).

Their squad was never good enough to begin with and most specialists expected the team to fight for survival at the bottom of the league. With 31 points after 26 rounds, Empoli is on the way to securing a ticket in Serie A for next season. Usually, the watermark is 40-41 points, which guarantees avoiding relegation.

Juventus has been undefeated since forever in Serie A, but this does not mean they’ve been good in recent games. As a matter of fact, 3 draws in the last 5 rounds overshadow their general improvement trend. To be fair, stallments against AC Milan, Atalanta and Torino are not results anyone would need to be ashamed of even though in the latter 1-1 derby draw Juventus were outplayed. I still believe that in this case Empoli Allegri’s superior squad should determine the outcome in their favor. They’ve gone winless long enough in the league now, coming from 2 consecutive draws. Empoli is far from convincing in terms of form and with the level of football showcased over the last 2-3 weeks, should be easily beaten by the visitors.

1-2/0-2 scoreline looks as the likeliest of outcomes.
