Fagiano Okayama finished 11th last season in J2. Despite they made a good 2nd part, didn't managed to fight for something more. Also they were one of the teams with most injured players.

However many changes in the team starting from coach Takashi Kiyama who was assistant at Gamba Osaka.

He is a talented coach and uses mostly attacking lineups.

Some players left to higher divisions like mid Shirai (40/1), best scorer Uejo (42/13), st Lee (10/2), mid Paulinho (32/0), def Inoue (44/0) and mid Ishige (15/6).

But most of them remained and more experienced players are added. Def Bujis from Kyoto Sanga who win the promotion, st Tiago Alves from Gamba Osaka, mid Kawai from Shimizu Pulse and st Han from Seoul.

On paper they should be considered better than last season. Maybe not a promotion candidate but can be easily in top 10 of J2.

Ventforet Kofu in other hand finished 3rd, losing the promotion by 4 points.

Since then, the team changed too much starting from the coach Ito who left to Jubilo Iwata. He was very important for Kofu because created a very organized team.

Now the coach is Yoshida who return after 2 years. Previously he have been coach of Singapore national team.

Also many important players left like best scorer Izumisawa (26/10), def Koyangi (19/0), def Mendes (37/6), st Arita (16/1), mid Nakamura (34/4) and mid Notsuda (42/2).

From 11 signed players, 7 of them are coming from youth academies. Foreigners mid Renato and st Paraiba are unknown for their qualities but also they just come in the team probably will need some time to be adapted.

I think Kofu is still under construction while Fagiano built a good team on paper and should get at least a draw in this opening game.
