HIFK did start the league cup with an away win over Inter Turku, it was not a fair result and the opponent was very rotated, but partly it may explain the low odds today. They also have played since then a friendly vs a team from 3rd tier, they drew 1-1 with SalPa and were in big trouble for most of the game, with about similar lineup than today as this was last week,

HJK are the only “big” team in the country, they have strengthened their side since winning the title last season with several national team players like Soiri, Toivio and Raitala and also the new foreign signings seems decent and well-planned, like the 2m tall keeper from Celtic.

HJK results have been inconsistent in this friendly season and they even lost 2-3 to MIFK in the league cup, after being 2-0 up and looking like they are gonna win by 6-0 but then some football happened. Nevertheless, now they know better, and can not afford to lose to HIFK.

Moneywise HJK starting eleven players probably earn more on their own than the whole HIFK side, and what ever the will and fighting spirit is this gap in class is too huge

to cover.
