St.Ettiene are obviously the bottom-placed team in Ligue 1 but their last two games showed some nice signs and the fans again believe in their team now. It's also a derby game and in such games in France, draw most often happens.

Promoted to Ligue 1 this season for the first time in its history, Clermont Foot is currently performing well. Indeed, the Auvergnats are obviously part of the formations to fight for their maintenance but have just won some precious victories that put them in midtable. Not the best after consecutive defeats against Monaco and Strasbourg, Gastien's men showed a very good state of mind to win against two teams which play at the top of the table, at home against Rennes (2-1 ) and especially on the last game against OGC Nice (0-1) third in Ligue 1 and a team in good shape at the moment. However, they were outdogs in those games and hit the opponents on counter attacks, but today will be a different story as they are set as favorites against St.Ettiene and they will have the ball in the legs more then in last 2 games which they won. Can they handle the expectations? At the bottom of the hole a few weeks ago, AS Saint-Etienne has just found hope in the race to maintain and climb up the table. In a first win two rounds ago, ST.Ettiene went to win a precious success in Angers (0-1) by showing a very good fighting spirit. On the last matchday, ST.Ettiene got into their game perfectly but were surprised on the 1st Montpellier opportunity. Coach changed the course with subs of the match as Nordin and Hamouma overthrew Montpelier at the very end of the game (3-1), for a logical victory and so important points. Bottom placed but St.Ettiene have regained hope thanks to the last two successful performances and I trust they can continue with the renewed atmosphere. On their way and with a workforce now almost complete, Saint-Etienne should be able to sign a 3rd consecutive success in L1 against Clermont as in the first leg.

I believe a draw will happen here, but wouldn't be either surprised to see an away win for St.Ettiene. I got information from a substitute away player that they reached a high level of friendship in the last few days and will "die" to win points in each next game. This makes me bet easier on double chance X2.
