The Hammers will continue with the same squad as against Sunderland.

Chelsea, meanwhile, were held to a 0–0 draw at home against Crystal Palace in their opening fixture. The Blues, who celebrated the Club World Cup title this summer, controlled possession and created a few chances, but overall the display fell short of expectations. Enzo Maresca’s men had a short pre-season, and performance improvements can be expected as the season progresses. In defence, first-choice centre-back Levi Colwill is still missing, but Tosin Adarabioyo returns from injury.

This time, West Ham are likely to approach the game as underdogs, allowing Chelsea to control possession in midfield. For the Hammers to snatch points, their five-man defensive line and goalkeeper Mads Hermansen must perform at their best. When Chelsea push their line higher, West Ham will look for counterattacking opportunities, especially through Jarrod Bowen. Even away from home, Chelsea are clear favourites, with over a 50 per cent probability of winning, but the odds.... we have to go for 1X this time.
