KuPS made history on Thursday night by progressing from the third qualifying round of the Europa League at the expense of Latvian side RFS with a 3–1 aggregate victory. This secured the Kuopio team at least a place in the Conference League group stage and a chance to fight for a Europa League spot against Danish champions Midtjylland. Samuli Miettinen and Johannes Kreidl picked up knocks in Thursday’s European match and are doubtful, meaning rotation of the squad will be inevitable with next Thursday’s European fixture in mind.

FC Inter had a tougher match than expected against AC Oulu last time out, but eventually claimed a fully deserved 3–2 victory. Vesa Vasara’s Turku-based side have been just as strong as their results suggest, and their momentum shows no sign of slowing. Their transfer window moves have been deliberate: they have brought in two quality domestic players, Seth Saarinen and Julius Tauriainen, both of whom add further options for wide play.

KuPS sit second in the league table, the closest challengers to leaders FC Inter, but again must manage the workload of their key players. If the visitors can dictate the tempo of the game to their liking, it is hard to see KuPS keeping up.

As there is a chance of a let-go under these circumstances, I take the asian handicap -1.5, as I am greedy by nature, and I see more value.
