The absence of Nico Schlotterbeck continues to be felt in defense, but they’ll have to make do. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens’ situation remains uncertain for this match, as Chelsea appears to be on the verge of signing the English forward in the coming days.

Monterrey performed well in the group stage, even exceeding expectations. The team includes many familiar faces, such as Sergio Ramos — especially recognizable to fans of Spanish football — but the core of the side is made up of players with experience in the Mexican national team.
