                                                 Oostende vs Racing Genk

Oostende host Genk for this Belgium Jupiler Pro League round 21 battle at Diaz Arena. I expect the visitors to prove their class here and see them as pretty clear favorites. I do expect an entertaining and even more open and high-scoring match than the betting market, most analysts and experts  - and perhaps the sports media in general. The level of the this league has been on the rise in the recent five or so years and despite the fact that it is in general of course nowhere near the level of Spanish La Liga, English Premier League, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga  or even the French Ligue 1 it is still pretty high level football with a lot of young, promising guys whom the bigger clubs, in better leagues keep a close eye on.. The league is also pretty balanced except for the worst team in the league, Beerschot. Rougly speaking the top-10 teams are capable of good, often very aggressive and fast-tempo football.  Let's take a closer look at this almost certainly very entertaining -  but most importantly betting-wise interesting match..

The visitors are currently in the 9th place with 26 points but I rate them as the 5th best in this league that illustrate the teams' raw class. They have potential for a lot more, especially defense-wise. They have allowed 33 goals so far - which is of course too high a number for a team whose goal must be to fight for a top-4 position.. The have had some injuries, yes, but that is of course no excuse, and they must structure their defense better to climb up the standings.. Sometimes it has also looked as if they have simply lacked the 100% fighting spirit and professional attitude.. The number of goals scored by Genk - 36  - is good enough and I expect their talented offensive players and creative midfielders to score at least twice in this night time match (Beijing time). I have liked the way Genk have played in most of their matches lately. Especially versus Charleroi on the 18th of this month - when they dominated the battle and took an impressive 4-2 home win.  I want to add that Charleroi are a good team and are in the sixth place now.

The hosts are in 12th place with 23 points at the moment but I see them only as the 14th best team in this league and they have been over-rated by the market in some previous matches as well and the same is true here. Their goal difference is horribly bad - 23:39 - and their defense is vulnerable to say the least. They are capable of some improvement in this sector, but I believe this will not happen today - or at least not to a sufficient extent to win this match or probably to take even a point.. They are also missing many players today - particularly in defense where they have to do without Steven Fortes and Alfons Amade because of suspension. Anton Tanghe and Manuel Osifo are injuried. Marko Kvasina and Indy Boonen are also likely to be missing too. Gueye will once again be relied on to score for the hosts. He has 11 goals to his account so far this season.
