Atalanta vs AS Roma

Atalanta has a rough season start this season because of injuries but since they recovered key players they have been probable the best team in the league right now, they are in 3rd place and only 3 points behind the Champion Inter Milan and are current on a six game win streak. If we look at Atalanta record at home it's kinda bad, they have an amazing record on the road but at home they have struggled, however, since they got healthier they won their last 2 games very easily against Spezia and Venezia and even Roma is a better team than those opponents I do think that right now Atalanta is a much better team than Roma especially knowing the issues that Roma has on the defensive side, Atalanta's attack is powerful and can take advantage of that for sure. For this game Atalanta only injury concern is Gosens who is out of the game, the rest of the team is ready to play if no cases of Covid happen of course.

Roma are sitting on 6th place and to be fair you can't ask much more from this team, I think that Mourinho is making a good job with this team but overall they are a team with a lot of up's and down's but to be fair they had always issues with injuries in key players so their season hasn't been easy at all. At home Roma has been able to have good results besides all those issues but on the road the story is different, they have 3 wins and 5 losses on the road in 8 games and performances wise they don't play at the same level on the road. In the last game they beat Spezia at home by 2:0 but got an awful news, Smalling got injured once again and hasn't trained with the team, if he misses it's a big blow for Roma's defensive line and it looks that he will miss the game. For this game Roma are without El Shaarawy, Pellegrini, Spinazzola and Afena-Gyan who is suspended. Smalling is doubtful but it seems very unlikely that he plays.

Atalanta is in great shape in the Serie A, winning all their games and most important they have been dominant and they can for sure dream big this season, I think they have good chances to fight for the title if they don't catch many injuries, right now they have almost all their players ready and with that the results have come easily for them and Roma is a team who on the road doesn't look the same. Even if Smalling plays I see Atalanta has the better team but if Smalling doesn't play Atalanta should have no problems to really hurt Roma's weak defensive line without him, overall, I believe either way that Atalanta will get the win here and continue their nice winning run.
