Sporting CP are the champions in title after an amazing year in the last season 2020/2021 coached by Ruben Amorim. They started this season really well with the win of Supercup against Braga where they dominated Braga and was the best game that Sporting of Ruben Amorim made against Braga of Carlos Carvalhal, but after the 3rd week their performance started to decrease a lot and they faced 3 games in a row without any win, with an humiliation against Ajax for Champions League where they lost 5-1. Now they are in a good shape in terms of results, but not in terms of performance in my opinion, as they beat Arouca by 2-1, but conceded a lot of chances and suffered until the whistle, then made a very good game against Besiktas but in the first 15 minutes Besiktas was dominating the game, but in a set piece Sporting scored the 1-0 and after that they felt more relaxed and controled the game. Their recent match was against Moreirense at home where they didn't play well again. Moreirense had the best chance of the game when the score was 0-0, but Adan made an amazing save and again in a set piece Sebastian Coates scored the 1-0 and the game ended without more goals. For this game they will face a really tough opponent who come from a very good result against the best team in Portugal at the moment. Sporting don't have any important absence for this game, but their striker Paulinho is being very criticized by the supporters as he has only 1 goal for the league so far. He missed a lot of clear chances this season and is a problem for Sporting and that's why they are only scoring goals in set pieces recently.

Vitoria Guimaraes are in the top-5 of best clubs in Portugal after Benfica, Porto, Sporting and Sporting Braga. Their supporters are one of the best aswell and in every game they feel like they are playing at home because the noise is almost only done by them. Their last season was terrible, they started with a very unexperienced coach Tiago, it was his first time coaching a team and just made 3 games for the league, then they bought Joao Henriques and was a big fail too, then they had 2 interim coaches Bino and Moreno. This season they decided to be more sure and bought Pepa who made an amazing work in Pacos de Ferreira achieving the 5th place with a humble Pacos. They didn't start well the season in terms of results but they were creating a lot of chances and as Cristiano Ronaldo said in 2014 "When the 1st goal appears then it will be like Ketchup..." and it happened. If we see on their last game against the strong Benfica that invested more than ever they were losing 2-0 and 3-1 and were able to draw 3-3 and ended the game trying to score the 4th goal. This team is so strong with this coach. They will have the champion of the league and they know that it will be very hard, but the game will be almost a 50/50 as this Guimaraes plays always to win in every stadium. They have the best 3 wingers of the league in my opinion, Marcus Edwards who Sporting tried to buy but Guimaraes wanted 20M euros, the magician Quaresma and the irreverent Rochinha. I really think that will be really hard for Sporting to win this game, and if they are able to score the 1-0 they will start defending that advantage as they showed in the last season and even in this season it's really hard to see Sporting winning by more than 1 goal.
