This won’t be easy for Athletic Club.

Espanyol is doing a fantastic campaign so far, especially at home. They started the season with some doubts, but lately are in great form: in the last 6 games they only lost away vs Sevilla. At home, they won the last 3 games played and only lost against Atletico Madrid 1-2 (conceding a goal at 99’).

The team is playing great and look full of confidence, and the best example is their great striker Raul De Tomas who has scored 5 goals already, and scored one goal in the last 3 games.

As said, Espanyol is a very competitive side and hard to beat, even Real Madrid weren’t able to do it (Espanyol won them 2-1). They were promoted this season but have a great squad and coach and surely will end in the middle of the table without problems.

No important missings today, only RB Oscar Gil, but he has a good replacement in Aleix Vidal (ex from Sevila, Barcelona, etc)

On the other hand, Athletic is having a good season too. But historically it is a different team at home than away: At home is one of the most difficult teams to beat due to the high intensity they put on the field, while away they don't play with the same motivation. We are seeing that in this season: At home they have 3 wins, 1 draw (vs Barcelona) and 1 defeat, while away they only managed to get one victory (and 3 draws).

Athletic has a huge lack of goal, as they dont have any good strikers (like Raul De Tomas in Espanyol, for example) but they have a good defence so they don't need too many goals to achieve points.

In the 9 games played so far they only lost one game, but also only won 4 (3 at home). Coach Marcelino confirmed some changes/rotation for this match, as the next one will be a difficult and important meeting; basque derby against Real Sociedad, the current leader of La Liga.

Honestly, I'm expecting a very tight game here where there isn’t any favorite. Draw is very possible and won't be a bad result for both teams, so I think that the double chance for the home team is the best bet here.
