Denmark host Austria for this FIFA World Cup qualification match at the legendary Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. Denmark have been amazingly good starting from the match versus Russia in EURO 2020 last summer where they grabbed a totally dominant 4-1 win over a pretty talented Russian team. Most of my fans probably remember what happened to Christian Eriksen versus Finland (heart-attack). Without the shocking accident they probably would swept past Finland, I would say 2-0 would have been a likely final score. Even without one of their best players, Eriksen, Denmark advanced all the way to semi-finals and despite playing well were eventually defeated by England. The score after 90 minutes was 1-1. On their way to the semis they humiliated Wales, a good football country, winning 4-0! After that they were clearly the better team versus Czech Republic despite the seemingly narrow 2-1 win. Let's remember the Czechs defeated a top team Netherlands in the previous match.. Denmark are a very balanced team and especially after the Eriksen incident seem to have a very special team spirit. Many of their players play for big European clubs - for example midfielder Højbjerg earns his money in Tottenham. Denmark simply do not have any significant weaknesses. In the qualification they have won all seven games with a stunning goal difference of 26:0! In their most recent match they crushed Moldova 4-0 away from home recording 21 scoring attempts and ten shot on target. The ball possession % was 64. What a fine performance despite the fact that Moldova are not a big football country. Before this they crushed a pretty good team Israel 5-0 at home. Yet another massively great match by the Danes! They have also easily beaten Faroe Islands and Scotland recently. Denmark's manager K. Hjulmand decided not to rest any players against Moldova but might perhaps rotate slightly here as there are three matches in the in three days and Denmark lead the group by several points. Denmark, however, have a big number of top-class players! I would estimate Hojbjerg and Andreas Christensen are the most probable candidates as they are one yellow card away from a missing the next match.

Austria have been pretty mediocre lately and did not fully convince me in the EURO 2020 despite - with a lot of luck - forcing Italy to an extra match only to lose eventually when Italy finally converted the pressure they put on the Austrians and advanced with a 2-1 win - and lifted the trophy in the end. In the qualification matches Austria have beaten very weak Faroe Islands 2-0, but also lost to a pretty mediocre team Scotland 0-1 at home and were beaten 5-2 by Israel. Very disappointing performances. They have a long list of injury problems ahead of this match -  Arnautovic and Baumgartner have withdrawn from the team because of injuries. Valentino Lazaro, Philipp Lienhart and Aleksandar Dragovic are also out.

To sum up, super strong Denmark are big favorites today and my pick is them to win  - once again! Even a clear win would not surprise me at all..
