Costa Rica is ranked 6 with 3 draws & 1 loose for 1 goal scored & 2 goals conceded. They have only 3 points in 4 games this is really bad. In normal condition this pick would have been a big gift, I believe a lot in this pick but the confidence in Costa Rica is not that high, a lot of people, me included don't rate their coach Sanchez good. In 20 years of coaching he didn't make too much good things, he came as head coach of Costa Rica without knowing well the team, he was doing really weird line up, doing weird subs during games.

With 3 points in 4 games situations is really awful for them because there is USA, Mexico & Canada as favorite to be qualified. On their last game they faced Honduras, they were playing with the goal of taking 1 point, they did it but the way they played was really bad, they were completely dominated.

On their last home game they played against Panama, they scored very early and then they couldn't do better than a draw 1-1. Against Mexico they lost 0-1 but they had some positive things at the end and would have deserved a point.

El Salvador for me is the worst team in North & Central America qualif, they don't have any good players imo.

They have only few players playing abroad, Alex Roldan who plays in Seattle, experienced midfielder Darwin Ceren from Houston & young Hernandez from Eindhoven.

They just won againt Panama who was surprising about the level showed on their last games and were doing good performance. Playing in El Salvador is always difficult for other teams because the climatic conditions are not easy. On this game in addition of the difficult climatic condition the pitch was really awful.

The goal scored by El Salvador was quite random & very lucky. They played just one game on the road, it was against a good team of Canada, after 10' they were already behind 2-0.

Costa Rica has much more qualities on the field than El Salvador, of course their captain Navas who is always doing a strong job as GK, on the last game he made great saves. In front we have Venegas from La Liga, Moya, Jimmy Marin who deserves more time with La Sele, Joel Campbell who needs to be used better by the coach.

If a club was in a situation as Costa Rica I would have been scared that players boycott the coach but I can't believe ticos might did that, WC is really too important for them, if they don't win this game it's really over, also in front of their fans they need to make their country proud of them.

I expect a one side game and ticos to win.
