Athletic should win here.

They are in great form, especially in defence where it’s so hard to create them chances or score a goal. Results are not so good (winless in the last 3 games), but their performances were good and they deserved better results.

At home is a really difficult team to beat, as they put a lot of pressure and intensity and not so many rival can equalize that. I’m trusting them based on what I saw on the field instead of the results. They just need a bit more luck in attack and score the goals in the chances they have, because their defence and competitive spirit looks one of the best in La Liga.

On the other hand, Alaves made an amazing performance last weekend against Atletico de Madrid. They were at the bottom, with 0 points after 5 games, and achieved a victory against probably the best team in the league. This for sure gave them motivation, but the reality is different.

Alaves has one of the weaker teams in La Liga. Furthermore, their performances have been awful, with a huge lack of motivation, quality and motivation. Also when small teams achieve an important result against the big ones, in the next game we use to see a decrease of their level and usually a defeat again. And I'm expecting that here.

Alaves will be so motivated and maybe a bit relaxed after the victory, and they will visit a team who plays at 200% so this isn’t a good deal for them. Athletic Bilbao at home demands a huge concentration during the whole match to the rivals, something that Alaves can’t do.

Alaves will be dominated here and hosts just will need to be a bit more effective in attack, something that they should do as they have quality. In defence, I don't see them conceding too much against a weak attack like Alaves has.

If we see both teams at the same level as in the first rounds, we should see a home win here.
