HJK have been inefficient in offense lately failing to score against Austrian Lask Linz in the UEFA Conference League and then versus Honka and local rivals HIFK Helsinki in Veikkausliiga. Lask Linz are of course a much better team than HJK - with a total player's market value of around thirty million euros according to Transfermarket.com. HJK did create several good scoring chances in the second half against Lask Linz and the match could easily have been a 1-1 draw. Versus Honka HJK were pretty lame in offense and did not create much in expected goals but Honka had chosen an ultra-defensive approach to the match and they certainly are good at defending deep in their own area. The final score was 0-0. Versus HIFK HJK were the better team and created many scoring chances but failed to capitalize on them. HIFK had a few attempts and scored twice.. HJK have not been playing badly lately and they did crush Inter in Turku a few weeks ago 3-1. We must remember by raw class they are clearly the best team in the Finnish Veikkausliiga, the highest level of Finnish football and I league I have been betting for over twenty years with very good results. Ykkönen, the second highest level, has been even more profitable though. Inter do not normally play as defensive as Honka or HIFK - they want to play "proper football" meaning they do attack as well allowing HJK chances for deadly counter attacks. Indeed, Inter's style of play suits HJK very well and I see them as clear favorites at Bolt Arena which has a very fast artificial turf. HJK have been very strong at home for years and the 0-2 loss to HIFK in a derby where the tickets were sold 50/50 for the fans of both teams does not mitigate this fact. Bolt Arena is also HIFK's home arena, so it was not a normal home match for HJK. Inter have achieved pretty good results lately but they have not fully convinced me on the pitch. Their coach Spanish Jose Riveiro will leave the team after this season and this is always a negative factor for any team..

To sum up, I expect irritated by the three matches without wins HJK to show their class here and see them as very clear favorites. They have close to 60% chance of winning. I trust their excellent coach Toni Koskela to motivate and prepare his team properly here. The situation with HJK's lineup is pretty good for this match and they do have more quality on the bench than the visitors. I suspect that bettors perhaps give too much emphasis on HJK's lame latest results and fail to remember how good a team they really are!
