Athletic has a very average squad, maybe they will fight for TOP10 but they are far from being a strong team in Spain. They have a lot of problems scoring goals while their defence isn’t strong enough.

The coach they have is good as his teams are based on a good defensive system, but Athletic Bilbao couldn't find yet their best level in defence due to some injuries, individual mistakes or some players far from their best moment.

The best example of Athletic's problems in attack has been the last round against Elche (probably the weakest team in La Liga) where they weren’t able to score any goal (ended 0-0) and even Elche had more chances.

For this match they will miss two starters like Unai Simon (goalkeeper), Yeray (central back). Other important players like Capa (RB) and De Marcos (RB) are out. This means that we will see a very weak defence because 3 of the 5 starters there (including goalkeeper) are out.

On the other hand, Barcelona made a great performance in their first game without Messi. They outplayed Real Sociedad (a much better team than Athletic) and won 4-2. They showed that without Messi they are still a very strong team, able to dominate the games and score goals.

For this match they have the same list of injuries, so the lineup will be the same. So I’m expecting them again to dominate the match, the possession and creating chances.

The midfield of Barcelona formed by Pedri - De Jong - Busquets is much better than Athletic’s one, so they will be able to keep the control of the game. Also the missings of Athletic in defence plus the strong attack that Barcelona showed in the first game makes me think that guests should be totally able to win this match.
