Japan has a very strong squad with Kubo and Doan leading their attack and their defence allowed only one goal, the goal in a game against Mexico after a mistake from their goalkeeper. The defence will be a key factor in this game so I won't be surprised if this game goes overtime.

Mexico lost to Brazil on penalties, they had a good game, but eventually, luck turned her back to them. These two teams are equal strength, in my opinion, the stakes are high so I expect both teams to play very cautiously so under 2.5 goals is expected. Japan is a proud nation, I think their players will be more motivated to win a medal on their own soil, probably they will have little help from the referees so I think it's a good bet to back Japan not to lose in regular time. I expect a draw in regular time, 0-0 or 1-1 seems like a possible result.
