Australia are in the semi-finals after ending their group with 4 points, they beat New Zealand by 2:1, than lost to this Australia team 2:4 and in the important game against the USA they managed the very important draw, 0:0 what was enough for them to go to the elimination rounds. In the quarter-finals they beat Great Britain by 4:3 in extra-time in a crazy game, Australia was pratically out of the tournament but Samantha Kerr managed to score the 2:2 in the 89th minute and took this game to extra-time. In extra-time Great Britain was the better team and with 2:2 in the scoreboard Great Britain had an penalty kick and missed, not only they missed their chance to get the lead in the next play Australia scored the 3:2 and very quickly the 4:2 and only in the end Great Britain reduced to 4:3, overall, Australia was a bit lucky to be in the semi-finals but they deserved it, Samantha Kerr is a special player and has been tremendous for them.

Sweden are in the semi-finals after winning all their group games, 3:0 against the USA, 4:2 against this Australia team and 2:0 against New Zealand. In the quarter-finals they faced the home team Japan and had not problems to past them with a 3:1 win. For me Sweden is the team who is playing the best football of this tournament, overall they are looking rock solid in each sector of the field and also they looked like the more fresher team on the field, one thing that also will help Sweden here is they are more rested, against New Zealand they rotated the whole squad and against Japan they had an easy going game and on the other side Australia is coming of intense games and a 120th minute game against Great Britain.

In the first game between this two teams I was on Sweden side and we won it by 4:2 and here I consider Sweden once again the favourite, their attack will give Australia's defensive line once again many problems but in this semi-finals I also think Sweden will be the more fresher team, in the first game both teams were at the same level of freshness but here things will favour Sweden's side who rested the whole team against New Zealand and had an relaxed win over Japan and Australia is coming of two very intensive games where they gave it all and some tiredness can be expected in this game on their side. Sweden knows what to do here, they already beat this team 4:2 and they know the only player who can hurt them is Samantha Kerr, so they will need to put more focus to stop her and maybe have a little different game plan but overall Sweden attack should once again have no problems to score here multiple times against this Australia defensive line, overall I expect Sweden once again to beat Australia and get their ticket to the final and fight for the Gold Medal.
