In the following weekend Gladbach expectedly struggled for composure and freshness against tricky Hertha Berlin (1:1), but still found a way to bounce back from 0:1 scoreline. Manager Marco Rose had left both of his key hitman on the bench in that game, showing awareness of team's hectic schedule. Plea and Thuram eventually made the pitch around the hour mark and almost turned things in Borussia's favor. Having played just 25 minutes on Saturday each, Plea and Thuram go into this match significantly rested. Smart and well time rotation has to bring benefits for Gladbach in this midweek round, where most would expect them to struggle physically.

The Portuguese international missed their previous league game with injury. Coincidentally or not, Eintracht deservedly lost on the road to Wolfsburg (1:2).

Adi Hutter's team has generally been really unbalanced this season, a trait they've taken along from the previous campaign. Such inconsistency has kept them short of wins (just 2 up to date in 11 rounds - the same number as relegation zone Arminia Bielefeld). At times, it seems Eintracht's backline and attack exist indipendently from one another. No wonder, they have a negative goal balance of 16:19. Moreover, Eintracht is yet to keep a single clean sheet (!) since June 2020 - which is 19 consecutive games.

Fun fact, Gladbach has not lost a head to head match against Eintracht over the course of last 2 seasons - 3 wins and 1 draw.

I am positive, that Frankfurt's leaky defense is going to keep them at bay again, when facing a significantly classier opposition like Gladbach.
