In my opinion Spain is clear favorite of today's match up and they should be able to get qualification into semifinals after 90 minutes here in St.Petersburg.

In overall Spain have excellent record against Switzerland in all competitions as they won 16 of 22 matches against them. Only one loss in the process.

Spanish team experience on the main level should make difference today as well. For them this is nothing special as their national team used to play on the biggest stage. On the other hand Switzerland in their history played only 3 times in QF of major international tournament and they lost 3 times. I see another loss today.

Switzerland today have huge squad problem and that should have extremely bad impact on their performance. Team captain and key midfielder Granit Xhaka is suspended and unavailable today. It's a huge blow. In last two matches (group stage against Wales and 1/16 against France) he was the best Swiss player. He inspired other player to play on the highest possible level. We should see big drop in quality today without him. Problem should be even bigger because Switzerland have to deal in the middle without Xhaka against Spain. Spanish team in this tournament so far averaging 73.4% possession and have a passing accuracy of 89.5%. Simply the best team in that department and they should be able to control middle zone without too many problems today. Because of that they going to create a lot of opportunities to score upfront. In offensive formation Spain have players in red-hot form like Ferran Torres - he scored 7 goals and made 1 assist in last 9 matches in National team. He will be very hard to stop today.

Without Xhaka Switzerland chances are really, really low here. It's like Portugal without Ronaldo or Poland without Lewandowski.
