I can’t see Croatia out of the EURO in the qualification stage. They need a victory to avoid it.

Scotland is a very average team. Made a terrible match in the first round against Czech Republic, where they were dominated and lost deservedly 0-2. Then, achieved an important draw against England (0-0)in the derby, but I think that game was more due to a weak England’ performance than a good match by Scotland. They just made a defensive game and England weren’t able to create a single chance. Maybe the worst game we have seen in the EURO so far, just 1 shot on target by each team.

In my analysis of the group I had Scotland as the worst squad, with very few chances to qualify to ⅛ finals. They are a very defensive team with weak attack and the best example of this is that they are the only team in the whole Euro with 0 goals scored so far. The match against England was the game of their life, with a very important result and spending a lot of energy there.

Midfielder Billy Guilmour will miss the game due to covid. They have a young squad, with lack of quality and experience.

On the other hand, Croatia has the last chance to qualify for the next round. They have been one of the big disappointments in the tournament so far. The squad who played the last World Cup final, haven't been able to win yet and need a victory in the last round to qualify.

The first game against England was a bored game, maybe a deserved defeat, but in the second one against Czech Republic (who dominated and won deservedly against Scotland) they dominated the game and deserved to win, but finally drew 1-1 conceding the goal from penalty.

That’s true that their squad is a bit old and the team looks tired, but they have quality enough to at least avoid the ridiculous possibility of not being able to qualify in a group with Scotland and Czech Republic. They have top players who should make the difference in games like this one.

With current results, Croatia just need a victory to qualify. With a draw, they are out (as they aren’t one of the 4 best thirds). They have much more quality and experience than Scotlland, were favorites with England in this group, and should win to qualify for the next round.

It won’t be easy, Scotland will be defensive as always and Croatia will dominate, but I hope to see Modric at better level and Croatia showing their quality to achieve the victory. A draw or defeat by Croatia (and elimination of the tournament) would be one of the biggest disappointments of the EURO.
