Of course England are the better team and they have the home advantage as they play at Wembley, but how likely is it in the end that they win by more than 1 goal?

They won the xG - and the game - by one single goal, and no doubt Croatia is class-wise better team than Scotland, but the passion and need to get something out of this is definitely greater at Scots than any country vs England.

England did not create too many good scoring chances despite a strong start to the game.

It was another win by 1 goal, 4th in a row for England. They are not brilliant or shining, but defend well and keep opposition far from top chances. England coach Southgate started with a 4-3-3, Trippier on left side which is abnormal and a mistake in my opinion even if he did well there too. On the wrong side. Southgate was able to make clever tactical changes in-play, and they took more advantage of progressing more directly and vertically from the center as well. As a whole England were strong.

Good keeper Henderson is out of competition, Sancho and Maguire are unlikely to play.

Scotland played a decent game v Czezhs and won the xG rather clearly, but as the goals only count they ended up losing 0-2 to Schick. No reason to be ashamed of the performance, they missed Tierney who might be back today, and Czechs were able to close down the left flank - the expectedly strongest part - easily. It has to be improved, we need more 1v1 challengers from Robertson, more courage from McTominay.

Big game, especially for the Scots who will not surrender at any moment and it would not surprise to see too much emotion and reckless challenges on the pitch. Last encounter ended in 1-1, with this pick we win even with a one goal loss which just might be the likeliest outcome.

2-1?
