Newcastle have conceded only 10 goals but their number of expected goals allowed (xGA) is 17.04! They have scored only nine goals and cannot march Chelsea in any area of the game.. They are only in the 12th place with a pretty lame 12 points to their pocket. I want to highlight that Chelsea have a much deeper squad than Newcastle.. This is important here as squad rotation – possibly even pretty heavy – is expected from both teams' managers.. Newcastle are sweating over the fitness of key player, Anthony Gordon, who missed the latest game due to a groin injury sustained in training last Saturday.. Will Osula and Jacob Murphy could start here.. Only recently back from a toe injury, the Swedish forward Isak might be rested from the start of this game despite striker Callum Wilson occupying a place in the medical room due to a back issue.. Newcastle's options in the defence are affected by the absences of center-back J. Lascelles and K. Trippier. Sven Botman is sidelined until the end of this year due to a cruciate ligament injury. Chelsea, on the other hand, suffered no fresh fitness concerns during their Premier League victory last Sunday, but Maresca is, indeed, expected to make several changes to his starting eleven. However, many of Chelsea's key players in the win over Panathinaikos  are set to return, including K. Dewsbury-Hall and J. Felix. Important Defender  Ben Chilwell is a doubt for the trip to Newcastle after missing training recently due to an illness.. The biggest bookies with the largest stake limits see the hosts as marginal favourites here - offering them odds of around 2.55 to win in the 90 minutes of play. I strongly disagree – Chelsea deserve to be the favourites here and we will take the +0.5 goals handicap option!

They have now won seven of their last nine matches and seem to be high in confidence! The hosts have won only their last six matches – and none of the last five Premier League games.. Before losing to Chelsea they were beaten by Brighton at St. James' Park 0-1 – priced around 1.75 to win by the bookies at the time of kickoff. They did record one more shot on target though.. It was a bad performance as a whole but we must remember that Chelsea are a significantly better team than Brighton in terms of pure class.. In round 7, on the 5th of this month, Newcastle were priced around 2.00 to beat Everton on the road but no goals were scored in this pretty low-level clash – by the Premier League standards.. Newcastle did record one more shot on target though – 2-3. They also generated more in expected goals (xG). Even so, most of Newcastle's attacks were pretty slow and predictable, allowing Everton to organize the defence. Before beating Newcastle Chelsea beat one of the biggest Greek teams, Panathinaikos, 4-1 in Athens in a UEFA Europa Conference League round 2 battle. The Greeks started the game well but as a whole Chelsea were the much better team – generating 1.56 more than the hosts in xG.. They allowed Panathinaikos just three shots on goal and recorded six more goal attempts (14) and shots off target (9). In round 8, on the 20th of this month Chelsea lost to Liverpool 1-2 on the road as very clear underdogs on the betting market. However, they challenged the hosts well, even recording many more goal attempts - 12-8 to be precise. Liverpool did generate more in xG though..
