Spain and Sweden are fortunately the only teams so far with Covid-cases, and hopefully it will remain so. Material-wise the difference is huge, and as the match is played at Sevilla under very hot conditions the home advantage is massive!

Spain has been a title candidate for the last 10 years or so, and this time it is not different even if they are not quite the biggest favourite this time as the competition is fierce.

The choices of coach Luis Enrique caused some controversy as he seemed to favour players outside of La Liga, but there is no reason to think he would not know what he is doing. The covid caused isolation and cancellation of the first team’s last friendly - it was played by U21 - but they met Portugal the earlier week and should had won the 0-0 game after a strong performance.

Covid did hit Busquets and Diego Llorente, the team have not practised together recently, but as they have a strong team identity it should be no major problem.

The key question is how long will the Swedish defense survive the constant Spain attacks, and another one of is how Spain handle the pressure as a lot is always expected from them, and definitely leaving Sergio Ramos out is not acceptable to show in the central defense.

Sweden lost top attacking piece Kulusevski and midfielder Svanberg to Covid, and also Pontus Jansson is probably out due injury. Also the Swedish cases are newer and there is still a chance to new outbreaks.

Otherwise the Swedish preparations were going well, they did win their latest 5 games, only that the opposition was very weak! Looking back at their latest encounters vs top teams the saldo is a lot more worrying as they lost this handicap twice to Portugal, once v France, and their latest trip to Spain ended in 3-0.

The Swedish top striker in these games is Real Sociedad’s Alex Isak, Spain know him all too well.

As Spain have world class players for two strong lineups it does not really matter who start here, there will be rotation in the group phase games. I would like to see Villarreal’s top scorer Gerard Moreno to steal the position from Morata, and De Gea to give room to Simon in goal. With Sweden there is less room to experiment.
