Sporting CP vs LOSC Lille

Sporting are in this competition after winning the Portuguese League last season and for me they are even better this season than last season and I expect them to make a nice Champions League campaign. They almost have been perfect this season, the only issue was the season start SuperCup game against Porto, they were up 3:0 and had chances to be up by 4:0 but somehow they weren't in good shape yet and in the half Porto managed to outperform them and tied the game 3:3 and in extra-time Porto won the game, even Sporting lost that game we saw that Sporting was really on another level when they get in shape and that what happended, in their league they won all their 5 games with 19 goals scored and only 2 goals against them and that included a 2:0 win over Porto for the league too.

Lille is here after ending their last season in 4th place but because of that they did have to play two elimination rounds and they beat Fenerbahce and Slavia Praha to get the access to the competition and to be honest, they were lucky to beat Slavia Praha because in their road game Slavia Praha could have easily recovered the elimination if they hadn't miss their chances. After that slim loss to Slavia Praha it was good enough because they had won at home by 2:0 but after that loss Lille continued to lose games in their league against PSG at home and St. Etienne on the road and now they have a tough task in front of them in my opinion.

Lille has been solid at home and performing well but on the road they struggle big time, last season that was the case and this season we are seen it again, like I said, even against Slavia Praha they played good at home and won 2:0 but on the road they almost lost that elimination because they played really bad and now they will be on the road again against a team who is ultra confident for this season. Sporting has been in great shape now, their attack is creating and scoring goals like crazy supported by a rock solid mid-field with Hjulmand, Santos and youngster Quenda and their trio in front has been playinh lights out, Pote is great shape scoring goals like crazy, Trincao is feeling really good this season and is shinning once again with assist and goals and of course their monster Gyokeres who scores at easy and is a nightmare for any defensive line and I think that today at home in their first game of the Champions League I see Sporting taking control of the game and beat this Lille team by 2:1 or 3:1 because right now Sporting is just playing at a very high level.
