Portugal won the group and Slovakia finished in 2nd place – it was indeed a difficult group..

In round 3, in EURO 2024, Turkey defeated Czechia 2-1 and played relatively well, except for some 15-22 minutes in the second half when they were leading 1-0. For some reason they become passive, allowing the Czechs to attack - despite playing with only 10 men! As mentioned before, Turkey will have to work around the absence of Yilmaz here. Consequently, it should be a relatively easy fix, as Real Madrid's promising youngster, Arda Guler, 19,  played as a false nine during stages of EURO 2024, and he could move into that role, with Calhanoglu coming into the side.. The rest of the team is expected to be unchanged, with head coach Montella set to keep faith with a five-man defence.. He will surely be asking for more output from his wing-backs in this clash.. As for the visitors, skilled - but often underrated - head coach Hareide is not expected to find a good enough reason to shuffle the squad considering the impressive – yet not perfect nature of the result and performance against Montenegro! Oskarsson, who plays for a big La Liga club, Real Sociedad, scored his third international goal on Friday local time. The 20-year-old super talent is once again expected to lead the line.. Thorsteinsson is another almost certain starter for Iceland in an offensive position. Furthermore, there should be a spot at right-back for quick Alfons Sampsted, who plays for Birmingham City in League One, in England.
