Portugal vs Croatia

Even Portugal only lost in penalties against France in the Euro 2024 it still was kinda a overall bad performance from Portugal in terms of playing quality but because they have so many good players they were able to hang in with the best teams but playing wise they weren't good and for me it's was because of their Coach Roberto Martinez who lets key players out of their squad, the funny part is that for this Nations League games he put a legit squad with fresh and young players what he should have done for the Euro's, so, overall I like this squad way better than the Euro's one and I think Portugal is the clear favourite in this group to end up in the 1st place. Pepe has retired but overall Portugal has enough players to be okay in that position, the main issue with Pepe is that Portugal lose a great leader but in that team Portugal has solid leaders too, like Ruben Dias for example, so I don't think it's a big problem here.

Croatia played a very poor Euro 2024, didn't won any game and performances wise they looked really poor, no pace, no great intensity and I don't think it will change in the future, their golden generation is dying player by player and the new players don't have the quality of those players and even Croatia maintained their Coach I see them struggling like they have lately and especially when the old players retired, yes, Modric is still here but Brozovic who was a big and key player for them retired and also for this game they don't have Juranovic, Stanisic, Erlic, Caleta-Car and Majer, so they have some concerns for this two games for the Nations League.

Four years ago Portugal faced this Croatia team twice for the Nations League and won both games, 4:1 at home and 3:2 on the road and right now I think Portugal is still a legit strong National Team and Croatia got worst. Yes, it's true that Croatia beat this year Portugal by 2:1 in a friendly game but lets talk about the contest, Portugal played without many key players and also their Coach was doing some dumb experience with a tactica that Portugal never played, that's why friendlies exist, to try others schemes and tactics but now in a official game and playing at home with a full stadium I expect Portugal to control the game and in the end to beat Croatia and get the important 3 points here.
