They simply lack quality in all areas of the game to do well at the highest tier! I want to highlight that the difference between the Liga 1 and Liga 2 is substantial.. Let's also not forget that according to a well-known and respected German website, Transfermarkt.com, U. Cluj are the bigger team here – by a very clear margin.. Indeed, the U. Cluj players are valued at an estimated total of some 11.5 million euros! This is too low though. Some 14-15 million would be a more realistic number. Three of their players are undervalued.  The Gloria Buzau squad is valued at around 6.1 million euros. This is slightly too high though.. Some five million would be a more accurate number. Having said that I want to emphasize, the total market values very often reflect the teams' level on the pitch well but can, of course, sometimes be misleading as well.. For example, a still extremely good player, Lionel Messi, 37, who plays for Inter Miami in the MLS in the USA, is valued at "only'' 30 million euros.

Cluj have started the season well! They have not lost a single game in the Liga 1 so far and are in 3rd place with 12 points in their pocket. They have scored 10 goals and have defended even better than I would have expected in my in-depth preseason analysis. Indeed, they have allowed only three goals, which is the second-lowest number in this league! Gloria Buzau have been even worse than I expected before the season kicked off and are in 16th (last) place with a very disappointing five points to their account. Their offense has not been totally useless – they have scored six goals in Liga 1.  However, their offense definitely lacks individual skill and speed.. Their defence has -  unsurprisingly  - been very leaky. It is poorly organized as a whole. Moreover, most of their defensive players are too slow, physically weak, and make too many silly mistakes. They have conceded 13 goals – much more than any other team! Buzau have won only one of their last 11 games and their level of confidence seems to have been dropping in their last three games, resulting in many of their players giving a lot of weak passes -  even panicking with the ball.. They also do not have very enthusiastic fans.. Yes, the home advantage is of course there but with the expected lineups U. Cluj are still very clear favourites! Odds of around 1.85 are available on the betting market. We will take the U. Cluj win with a 61.50% chance of extending the winning streak! In their last game Buzau were crushed by Univ. Craiova on the road. The hosts cruised to a 5-1 win – recording a whopping  25 goal attempts. Buzau were terribly imbalanced on the pitch – their defence looked – dare I say – rather amateurish in this game! Before this they took a point at home from FC Rapid Bucuresti through a 1-1 draw. The visitors were the better team though, recording more goal attempts, shots on goal, shots off goal, corner kicks, attacks and dangerous attacks. In roun4 4, Buzau faced Din. București, a quite limited team, on the road and were abysmal. They recorded only one shot on goal and lost 1-4.

U. Cluj are undefeated in their last seven matches - winning 5/7 games. In their last game they were excellent, beating a dangerous team, Sepsi Sf. Gheorghe, 3-0 at home. They recorded many more shots on target (7-3) as well as goal attempts. In round 5 they played a rather cagey game against Petrolul on the road – no goals were scored and U. Cluj's offense was, in all honesty, lacking some creativity.. Petrolul did defend very well though.. Before this U. Cluj beat CFR Cluj away from home 3-2 in a high-level and entertaining clash as underdogs on the betting market.. I loved the way they attacked in this match and could score even more than two goals against the lowly Buzau. I want to emphasize that CFR Cluj are one of the biggest and most successful teams in Romania and finished in 2nd place last season, just three points behind the reigning champions, FCSB.
