Hosts, KFUM Oslo, is a team who is clearly overperforming. They have the worst squad in the league, lacking quality in all zones. However, they have been a very difficult team to beat and managed a good amount of points so far, enough to be 6th in the table and 6 points above the relegation zone, which is their main target.

Furthermore, in July they lost their second topscrer and one of their best players - Petter Dahl, who scored 5 goals in 15 games and finished his loan from Bodo/Glimt and was signed by Mechelen in Belgium. Their topscorer Johannes (7 goals in 14 games) is injured and already missed the last two games. He is not available for this one, and is a very important player: he was the topscorer last season, scoring 10 goals in the OBOS-ligaen.

So we have the worst team in the league, performing much better as expected, without any kind of pressure and also without their best player. I honestly don’t know how KFUM Oslo will score goals without Petter Dahl and also without Johannes.

Although they have been a difficult team to beat with only 4 defeats so far, they have won just 5 games, the same number as some relegation teams like Haugesund for example. They are getting points mainly due to the draws and close games.

As they are lacking goal upfront, KFUM always try to make slow-paced games, with few goals, as did in the last two games (1:1, 0:0). They have scored 23 goals only, but also conceded 23.

On the other hand, Rosenborg has one of the best teams in the league. According to their value, they are the third best squad in the league, with almost the same value as Cup winners Molde. With 26.05MM Euros, is more than 4 times more than KFUM-Oslo’s value, which is just 6.5MM Euros.

They have a team made to be in TOP positions, even fighting for the title, and are 9th. There’s a lot of pressure on the team as they need to improve their results. They have not made important transfers, as they keep the same good players they have had previously. One of them is striker Ole Saeter, who looks to be in great form this season with 8 goals in 14 games, among the league’s topscorers.

Another player who is for me the best in the league is the young midfielder Sverre Nypan, who I believe could be signed by a top team in Europe soon. He is only 17 years old and is fantastic.

Guests have much more quality and potential here, and also I see them with more motivation as they have pressure to scale positions in the table, whilst hosts are in a quiet position and surely will be happy with another draw. Given the quality difference and also the absences in host’ side, this should be a good chance for Rosenborg to get the three points and start reaching the positions where they should be in the Eliteserien.
