Brazil vs USA

Brazil is a surprise for me to be here, not that they are a bad team but they weren't just favourites to be here and they were lucky because this tournament had two 3rd places spots open. Their journey to the final started with a 1:0 win over Nigeria, than they had a bit bad luck against Japan and lost by 1:2 and than lost 0:2 against Spain, but like I said, they got the second 3rd place spot with 3 points and 2:4 in goals. In the quarter-finals they faced the home team in France and beat them 1:0, it was a very even match overall and they got lucky that France missed an early penalty kick and things could have been different. In the semi-finals they faced one of the favourites to win the Gold Medal in Spain again, they lost their group stage by 0:2 but this time they beat Spain by 4:2 but even it was deserved and just thing that Spain shoot themselves in the foot with that 1:0 own goal, where the goalkeeper shoot against the own player and the ball got in and that changed the whole game, Spain never recovered mentally after that and Brazil with the lead could play the game they like to play, but hey, Brazil deserved and are in the final and will have their medal, the question is silver or gold.

USA is no surprise to be here, for me they were the big favourites with Spain to win the Gold Medal and now we are here, but their journey hasn't been that easy at all. In the group stage they had no problems to beat Zambia by 3:0, Germany by 4:1 and Australia by 2:1. However, in the quarter-finals and semi-finals they only managed to beat Japan and Germany by 1:0 in extra-time, however, they were the better team and deserved to be in the final, the strange part is that they needed two extra-time games to do it and had really struggle to take care of their chances in compare to the group stages but they are a great team who is in great shape like we have been seen all tournament.

For me the USA are the favourites to get the Gold Medal here, overall they are the better team and they rarely make mistakes on defense, they only suffered 2 goals so far and overall have looked rock solid on defense, their attack is also legit but struggled in the last two games, many mental errors of not handling their first touch to the ball but also missing some good chances too so lets hope that today they are better in that department but confidence shouldn't be a problem here, they have a great track record against Brazil and have beat pratically every time lately, Brazil will play with heart like they always do and try to defend the result and try to hurt USA in the counter-attack, but USA usually is good dealing with those teams, they find ways to break the opponents defensive line and also with the speed that they have they also are good handling the counter-attacks too, so take the USA to win here and get their Gold Medal here.
