Okayama and Chiba lock horns in this J2 League round 26 battle at City Light Stadium Saturday evening Beijing time. The level of this league is not all that high by global standards but by Asian standards the level is pretty good – for 2nd tier I mean. Football enthusiasts and us serious, profit-hungry bettors can expect a game of better than average standards here. Most importantly, we have yet another very promising betting opportunity to make even more money betting on Japanese football. My fans and I have won six of the last eight picks betting on the J2 League. Okayama have clearly improved from last season when they ended up in 10th place with 58 points. Their number of xPTS is somewhat smaller though.. The top-3 teams, Yokohama FC, Shimizu S-Pulse and V-Varen Nagasaki have been much stronger than Okayama... Even so, the bookies should stop underestimating Okayama! They do, however, lack some firepower compared to the top-3 teams.. Their offensive structure is okay but do not have the most skilled offensive players. Yes, Chiba, too, have scored more goals than Okayama. The hosts' have scored 32 goals and their number of expected goals (xG) is 33.78. Their defence has been extremely solid though – mainly thanks to the excellent structure and very few silly individual mistakes.. Their head coach should be given a lot of credit too.. Indeed, they have allowed only 21 goals! Only Yokohama have conceded less goals -15. Chiba are currently in 8th place with 36 points. Last season they took 6th place. They should have some potential for improvement but the bookies keep overestimating their (current) level.. They have been very imbalanced on the pitch – not being able to make the most of their potential/players' skills.. They have scored 44 goals but their number of xG is "only" 38.76. Their defence has been strangely vulnerable - they have allowed 31 goals, more than Mito -  currently in 17th place!

The bookies see Okayama only as very marginal favourites here - offering them odds of around 2.60 to take all three points. This is way too high! We will take the hosts +0.5 goals handicap option with confidence! Okayama have been very strong at home this season, taking 23 points in front of their fans in 12 games. Chiba on the other hand have taken only three matches away from home in this season.. They somehow seem to lack confidence to play aggressively enough on the road.. Moreover, they have lost three of their last J2 League matches. In their last game they faced Yokohama FC on the road and did have their chances to take at least a point. However, Yokohama did the small details better on the pitch – despite being very far from their best! Yokohama scored twice in the injury time, winning 2-1. Surely a huge blow to Chiba mentally.. Before this Chiba were clear favourites on the betting market but lost to Kumamoto 0-2 at home! It was a lame performance to say the least! The visitors recorded many more goal attempts (16-8), shots on goal as well as shots on target.

Okayama have lost only one of their last six matches. In their most recent game they faced Montedio Yamagata and were very unlucky not to win! Indeed, they recorded many more goal attempts (19-6), shots in goal (6-1), shots off target, corner kicks (10-1), attacks and especially dangerous attacks – 92-33. Before this they were the slightly better team on the pitch as a whole away from home against Tochigi. However, the hosts forced Okayama into a 1-1 draw. In round 23 Okayama were excellent, beating Vegalta Sendai 2-0 at home. The visitors had a pretty high ball possession % but Okayama played smartly, recording 20 goal attempts! Vegalta Sendai recorded only two shots on goal. It was yet another example of how well Okayama can defend – as a team!
