Slavia Praha is always a good team for this type of games early in the season, they had a good pre-season and started their league with 2 wins and 1 draw and 5:0 in goals, they should have won all their games. What makes Slavia Praha a strong team in this type of eliminations in their home field advantage, everyone struggles to play there and also the stable core that this team has all this years, same Coach and pratically the same players and so they are always very competitive.

Union Saint-Gilloise has been solid in the past seasons and made some noise in the European Competitions too but this season I see some issues, their pre-season had good results but playing wise it wasn't that impressive from what I saw, especially in that 2:2 draw against Sporting, I saw big issues in that team but than they won the Super Cup against Club Brugge by 2:1 in a game they should have lost easily, sometimes football is like that and in their season they started with a draw and a win but they faced two teams who game from the lower leagues, so overall, their results have been good so far this season but performances wise I don't think they have been good and now on the road in a hard enviroment I think they will struggle.

If we look at the results we can saw that both teams have been having a solid start to the season but for me the difference is the quality on the pitch and for me Slavia Praha at home should take the win here and get a nice lead for the 2nd leg on the road. I like the fact that Slavia Praha has their core intact from the past season and Coach and on the other side Union St-Gilloise lost their Coach and their two top scores in Amura and Nilsson, so new ideas from the new coach and the team needs time to start performing better on the field and that's why I like Slavia Praha chances here, so take them to win this first leg here.
