They have conceded only 23 goals but this number is hugely misleading! They do defend in an organized way but their defence can still be pretty vulnerable to a well-organized intense pressing.. Their number of expected goals allowed (xGA) is 29.77. They have not been strong on the road in recent months. Indeed, they have won only one of their last eight away games! Seoul, on the other hand, have won four home games in a row.

Let's not forget that according to a well-known and respected German website, Transfermarkt.com, Seoul are the much bigger team here. Indeed, the Seoul squad is valued at a total of about 18 million euros which is more or less correct. The Gimcheon Sangmu players have an estimated market value of some 14 million. In my expert opinion this is too high though. Four of their players are overvalued! Having said that I want to emphasize, the total market values very often reflect the teams' level on the pitch well but can, of course, sometimes be misleading as well.. For example, a still extremely good player, Lionel Messi, 37, who plays for Inter Miami in the MLS in the USA, is valued at "only'' 30 million euros. Seoul currently occupy the 6th place in the standings. They have a decent 30 points to their account. However, they have the potential to improve in all areas of the game! Their number of xPTS is 38.21. They have scored one more goal than the visitors. The 37 goals scored is the 3rd-highest number in this league. Their defence is pretty good but their defenders sometimes make silly mistakes – taking too big risks near their own goal.. However I trust the Seoul coach – and the pretty skilled defenders and midfielders to defend/play in a more organized, less risky way against a dangerous opponent here.. Seoul have allowed 30 goals but their number of xGA is a little lower. Odds of close to 2.30 are available on the home win at the time of posting this preview and this is my favourite option to bet on here. With the expected lineups, taking the substantial home advantage into account – the hosts have a 50% chance of sending the visitors home empty-handed.

Neither team have been in great – or poor – form recently – winning five of their last 10 games. In their last game Seoul lost to Pohang 1-5 on the road as underdogs on the betting market. However, we need to remember that Pohang are a strong team. It was a Korean Cup match. Furthermore, I want to emphasize that the final score is hugely misleading and this result probably affects the odds way too much here! Seoul even had 52% ball possession and recorded more shots off goal, corner kicks (5-2), attacks (110-85) and dangerous attacks (74-65). Pohang had more shots on goal though. Before this Seoul faced the reigning champions, Ulsan HD, on the road as clear underdogs - losing 0-1. However, their performance was still quite good. I want to highlight that Ulsan defended very well in this game and played well as a whole. Even so, Seoul recorded many more goal attempts (8-5), shots off goal (5-2) as well as attacks. Both teams had three shots on target and Ulsan managed moderately more dangerous attacks. Seoul could have won this game.. In round 22 Seoul played well, beating Daejeon 2-1 at home. They could easily have scored more goals than two. Indeed, they recorded many more goal attempts (18-8), shots on goal (11-3), shots off goal, corner kicks, attacks and dangerous attacks – 66-30 to be precise. 

Gimcheon Sangmu, too, have won one of their last three games. In their last game they defeated Jeonbuk at home 4-0 after a good performance. However, they were pretty clear favourites in this game against an opponent who is at the moment in the second-last place in the standings. Jeonbuk were very poorly organized on the pitch and some of their players seemed to lose faith after Kim Dae-Won's 2-0 goal in the 69th minute. Jeonbuk's J. Park was sent off in the 36th minute which, of course, affected the game hugely!  I will not give this win very much emphasis against a team of a different caliber, Seoul. Before this the Gimcheon Sangmu were priced around 1.85 to win at the time of kickoff but lost to Suwon 2-3 at home after a lame performance. Suwon recorded many more goal attempts (13-8), shots on goal and shots off goal. The hosts had more attacks though – 151-125. In round 21 Gimcheon Sangmu faced Incheon, currently in 9th place, on the road. The visitors were priced around 2.30 when the match started but it was a 1-1 draw after a pretty balanced clash as a whole. The visitors had one more goal attempt. Incheon, on the other hand, recorded one more shot on goal and three more corner kicks than Gimcheon Sangmu.
