We all know that Spain has been excellent and England have been very poor most of the time, but now that this is

1) football

2) a final game

It is not that tempting to go for Spain to win on regular time anymore.

England were the favourites to win the tournament before it began, the coach Southgate has however managed to fail big time with his expected best players Bellingham and Kane, and they have mostly used one flank to attack, if any.

But there is huge potential for better, the individual might be better than of Spain - apart from Rodri, Fabian, Yamal and Nico, and again I would be very surprised to see an attacking approach for any of the sides here. And England have played like it from the start, it is Spain who will have to adapt.

England have shown their resilience as they have come back in every game. It is not luck, it is a skill, it is resilience and good nerves.

Spain were also in the losing position vs France, but they turned it around quickly, and started defending only in the winning position when they turned the hand brakes fully on. It also worked, France did not really get any good chances despite having most of ball and semi chances for the last 30 minutes or so.

Spain of course are still without Pedri, but perhaps the injury got from Toni Kroos early on turned to be a blessing for Spain, as his replacement Dani Olmo has been brilliant. The most talked player in Spanish camp has been Lamin Yamal, he will be 17 years today - in the first round matches it was Nico Williams but he has partly disappeared from the picture.

Yet, the two absolute key players in the squad are the engine, the midfielders Fabian and Rodri. They both are like more physical reincarnations of Sergio Busquets, they are everywhere even when you do not notice it. They win the balls, create the space, allow passing alternatives, and they are the true soul of the team. Rodri, as a Manchester City player can not offer any surprises, he is well marked and tackled and harassed, and if England manage to challenge these two there will be less passes to young wingers, and less chances.

It might end up being electrical,but boring, unless the first goal is scored. If there is one, and it scored by Spain there will be huge pressure from the English side who know they can equalize as they have done so several times. If is England, well then it gets more complicated as there would be even less space to run and exploit, but in papers I see this as either a 0-0 until 120 minutes, or Spain taking a 1-0 lead and defending it more or less successfully until the end.

I hope Spain wins in the end, it is a win for football and I live in Spain, but for betting reasons and value I choose here a draw.
