For me Venezuela is favorite here.

Venezuela has been a huge surprise in the tournament. They have won all three games and qualified as leaders with confidence. Thanks to that they’ll avoid Argentina in this round, so they have a great chance to qualify to semi-finals in a Copa America for the first time since 2011.

We could agree that they were lucky in the first game with the early red card, that Mexico missed a lot of chances (including a penalty) in the second game, and that Jamaica was simply the weakest team in the tournament. However, they made 9/9 points and this deserves respect.

They have quality in their squad. Veteran striker Rondon has been great in all three games, with 2 goals and strong performances. But also Yangel Herrera has been great (continuing with his great performances in the regular season with Girona). For me they have one of their best teams in recent years, and should take advantage of that in this tournament.

On the other hand, Canada is here with a lot of luck and mainly due to the poor performance of his rivals. In Group A it was obvious that Argentina was going to qualify as leaders, easily. However, the second qualified had to be decided between Peru, Chile and Canada, with all of them at a similar level. However, Peru and Chile were terrible, not scoring a single goal in three games, whilst Canada scored 1, which was enough to qualify.

Canada has scored only 1 goal in three games. Their main players are Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David but Lille’s striker made poor performances so far, playing well and scoring only in Peru’s game. Larin has been terrible so far as well, but I already expected that as he made a poor season with Mallorca scoring only 3 goals in 35 games.

I mentioned that Canada was lucky to qualify because in both games against Chile and Peru, rivals received a red card. Chile played more than 60 minutes with 10 players (and Canada wasn’t able to score any goal, so drew 0:0) whilst Peru also received a red card at 59’ when the result was still 0:0. In both games they conceded chances and were lucky.

Furthermore, even playing against 10 players, in some periods of those both games Canada played defensively, so here against a strong and motivated Venezuela I expect another poor and defensive performance by them.

Although both teams are surprisingly in this round, as nobody expects them here, I see Venezuela with much more motivation and confidence, as they have made great performances so far. Canada has been very lucky in their games and also in the terrible level shown by their rivals in the group, but in a more competitive group they wouldn’t be qualified.

Furthermore, Canada didn't impress me so far, whilst Venezuela did. According to the level shown in this tournament so far, I see Venezuela as the favorite. For me they have 60-65% chances to qualify.
