On Tuesday in 4 different countries started the Paris Olympic basketball tournament qualifiers. One of them is happening in Spain. Today, the Bahamas will host Poland. In this game, I'm backing the Bahamas.

The Bahamas started the tournament yesterday against Finland. The game was up and down because the Bahamas got an early lead, then Finland went away but the Bahamas managed to come back in the 2nd half and secure the win in the last minutes. As there are only 2 games in the group stage per team, this is a very important game for the Bahamas. With a win tonight, the Bahamas will guarantee the 1st place in the group meaning they won't be playing in the semifinals against Spain. I wouldn't be surprised to see Poland beating Finland. If the Bahamas lose tonight, they will get the 2nd seed and that isn't good.

This will be Poland's first game. They have some good players on the roster: Jeremy Sochan, Aleksander Balcerowski, A.J. Slaughter and Mateusz Ponitka. If we look at their friendly game results, there are some concerns: 73:78 against Greece, 68:82 against Croatia, 75:91 against Brazil, 88:59 against New Zealand and 82:80 against the Philippines. The last result is very interesting because the Philippines isn't a good team.

Despite playing 2nd game in two days, I'm going with the Bahamas. They have 3 very good players DeAndre Ayton, Buddy Hield and Eric Gordon. While the friendly game results were poor, the Bahamas showed what they are capable of against Finland. Poland could be a little bit better team but I still don't see who's going to stop Ayton. Yes, they have Balcerowski but he isn't so strong enough to contain the presence of Ayton. The Bahamas will need to stop Slaughter but the Bahamas are more overpowered on offense so they should get the job done.
