It’s crazy to see Romania in ⅛ finals, qualified as leaders in their group. For me, they have one of the worst teams in the EURO and the Netherlands should be able to beat them easily.

Romania was lucky in the EURO: Ukraine played terribly in the opening round as they were not ready yet, whilst then suffered a fair and deserved defeat against Belgium and finished the group stage with a gentlemen's draw against Slovakia in a game where the draw was good for both sides to qualify. They were by far the underdogs in their group, with only a handful of their players competing for midtable clubs in the big leagues.

Romania is a defensive and compact team whose strength is at the counters, as shown against Ukraine. However, Netherlands have good defenders for this: van Dijk and de Vrij are great defenders when they have to defend with many meters and with spaces, as they are accustomed to do that with their clubs.

However, although they are a defensive team, they didn't look well at the back. Conceded plenty of chances in all three games so far, and I expect Netherlands to generate some of them here as well. Goalkeeper Nita has been one of their best players so far, as well as midfielders Marin and Staciu.

Starter LB Bancu is suspended for this fixture, and his replacement is still unknown. Could be Mogos, Sorescu or Rus.

On the other hand , Netherlands is a team who use to play well against outsiders. They beat Canada, Scotland, and Iceland 4-0 in friendlies. For me they are stronger than Belgium, who outplayed and easily beat Romania.

This will be a difficult game for them, but they’ll dominate as they want and have the control of the game, because Romania will be happy leaving the possession to them.

They’ll need their creative attackers to be at their best to find spaces in Romania's defense, and here will be key Xavi Simons and Gakpo. Gakpo has been especially great in all three games, with two goals so far.

There's big pressure on Koeman and his players to deliver, after the defeat against Austria in the last round. However, they are a team with lot of quality upfront and have plenty of alternatives upfront to find chances. A good example was against Austria in Depay’s goal, where they found spaces against a defense full of players.

Romania has faced 13 shots on target so far in the tournament, the second-most after Georgia. No easy evening is expected for Romania's Florin Niță, one of the in-form goalkeepers at the Euro as said above.

Netherlands have much more quality and I see them qualifying them, winning in the regular time.
