Argentina is my favorite here.

They are already qualified and probably will use reserves, but even with a B team I see them superior to Peru (and to almost all teams in this tournament except the title contenders).

Argentina has been playing very well, with 3 goals and 0 conceded so far, and many players at a high level. I’m sure that several “reserves” will play very motivated this fixture, trying to show to Scaloni that they can have a chance in the starting XI for the upcoming games. Argentina is now a very competitive team and have plenty of alternatives, so I’m expecting a good performance here.

Probably Messi won’t play but Laurataro yes. He has been great so far, scoring in both games coming from the bench with great performances, so he is in good form. Others like Lo Celso or Di Maria are expected to play as well.

One of the main strengths I see in Argentina is their quality upfront and also their squad depth, which is the main advantage they have for this fixture. In previous friendlies they already played with reserves against weak teams like Peru, and won all of them easily: Guatemala, Ecuador, Costa Rica…

Peru has been a terrible team in this tournament, and that’s normal as nobody had big expectations with this team. They are coming with low morale as they are out of the tournament (need a miracle: win Argentina by a bigger difference than a possible Chile’s victory against Canada).

They lack goal due to the low quality they have upfront, and also are making a lot of mistakes in every game. I already had this analysis before the tournament (defensive mistakes, low morale, lack of goal) and during these two games I have not seen any solution: scored 0 goals so far and generated only 0.73 expected goals against Chile and 0.46 against Canada. They have not scored a goal in 8 of the last 12 games. Don't have any reliable striker, Flores is a weak striker, Lapadula had a bad season with Cagliari, and legend Paolo Guerrero is already 40 years old.

Furthermore, they'll miss starter defender Araujo who received a red card against Canada.

In both games (Canada and Chile) they were totally outplayed and deserved to lose, and of course Chile and Canada are way worse than Argentina (even with some reserves).

I expect Argentina’s players to be hungry for goals to fight for a spot in the next stages. Players like Lautaro, Garnacho, Lo Celso, Di Maria.. will be trying to show their best in this fixture, especially because the rival is perfect for that. They will have more motivation than Peru, and obviously more quality as well.

Both teams already played in WC Qualifiers in 2023 where Argentina won 0:2, with two goals by Messi in the first 40 minutes and a total control of the game.
