I believe there will be a big “biscotto” here. Biscotto means that two teams “agree” about some result which benefits both of them, and this is the case.

In this fixture a draw is the best result for both sides. With a draw, both teams will be qualified, which is a big success for the two sides. Both will qualify regardless of the result between Belgium and Ukraine.

There have already been some cases in big international tournaments where both teams needed the same result. I found 6 and in three of them the draw was the result needed. And surprise: in 3 of those 3 situations, the result was a draw.

Apart from that possible result, Slovakia is for me one of the worst teams in the tournament. They were very lucky against Belgium where deserved to lose, while against Ukraine they suffered a deserved defeat 1:2.

We must remember that in 4 of their last 5 EURO failed to score. Their key players are Newcastle goalkeeper Dubravka (who was the man of the match against Belgium), captain and CB Skriniar, midfielder Lobotka and their main threat upfront will be Bozenik, who could be an isolated figure for Slovakia as we saw against Belgium where he struggled to find good chances or even touch the ball in good conditions.

They are a very defensive team and with the draw being enough for them, I expect them to defend deep and plan a quiet game.

On the other hand, Romania has been a competitive team. They deservedly beat Ukraine 3:0 in the opening round with an amazing game by Parma’s winger Man. Have some other good players such as striker Denis Dragus who made a good season with Gaziantep and already scored against Ukraine.

In the second game they were deservedly beaten and outplayed by Belgium, but it was something expected.

The way they played against Ukraine and also some very good moments against Belgium makes me see them favorites to qualify here, especially given the poor level of their rivals. I expect Slovakia to generate very few chances and probably to finish the game without scoring any goal, whilst Romania will dominate and generate more danger, as I see them with better players and more confidence upfront.

As said, for me the draw is the most possible result, but in any case I see Romania stronger and with more chances to score a goal and win this fixture.
